Assembly instructions for our e-bikes

Your bike has been fully inspected, serviced, and securely packaged for transport in our workshop. Your new LikedBike has now arrived. This guide will guide you through the assembly process easily, safely, and at your own pace.

Before you start: What you need

Tool Icon
  • Allen keys (Allen) in common sizes
  • Pedal wrench 15 mm or Allen key (depending on the pedal)
  • Torque wrench optional, recommended

💡

Tip: Have all small parts (pedals, charger, keys) ready and work on a soft surface to avoid scratches.

What we removed or dismantled before shipping

For safe shipping, the following parts were dismantled or put into transport position:

  • Pedals dismantled
  • Handlebars positioned sideways and lowered
  • Brake lever turned downwards
  • On some models the display is dismantled

Thanks to our assembly instructions, you can reassemble everything correctly in just a few steps .

8 steps to a roadworthy e-bike

Step 1 – Unpack and check delivery

  1. Check the shipping packaging for visible damage and document it.
  2. Carefully open the box and remove the bike and accessories.
  3. Check the frame, wheels, and attachments for visible transport damage.
  4. Keep the packaging until you have assembled and tested everything.

⚠️ Important in case of transport damage : Note any visible damage directly on the delivery note and contact us with photos (box, bike, delivery note). This way we can help you quickly: info@likedbikes.com .

💡

Tip: Store small screws and spacers in a bowl – this way nothing gets lost.

Step 2 – Align the handlebars

  1. Loosen the Allen screws on the stem.
  2. Turn the handlebars straight in the direction of travel and then adjust the angle so that the grips fit comfortably in your hands.
  3. Then tighten the screws evenly again.

💡

Ergonomic tip: When you sit on the e-bike, your forearms and the backs of your hands should form a line – this will avoid pressure points on your wrists.

Step 3 – Adjust the brake lever

  1. Position the brake levers so that you can reach them easily and comfortably from your sitting position.
  2. Then fix the levers at the desired angle and tighten the screws.

💡

Safety tip: Briefly lift the front wheel and brake – the bike should stop immediately without being able to pull the lever all the way to the handlebar. You should also perform this braking test on the rear wheel.

Step 4 – Install the pedals

  1. Pay attention to the markings R (right) and L (left) from the direction of travel.
  2. Important: The pedals have left-hand threads and are screwed in counterclockwise.
  3. First, carefully place the pedals by hand and then tighten them firmly but delicately.

Step 5 – Adjust saddle and handlebar height

  1. Adjust the saddle height so that your knee is slightly bent when your foot is at the lowest point of the crank.
  2. The stem or handlebars should allow you to maintain a relaxed posture: with relaxed shoulders, a forward-facing gaze, and without overextending.

💡

Comfort tip: Make a note of your favorite settings (saddle height, handlebar angle). This way, you can quickly find them after every setup or transport.

Step 6 – Mount the display (if separate, as with Intuvia and Kiox)

  1. Attach the display mount to the handlebar.
  2. Check the connectors and make sure everything is secure and not under tension.

💡

Cable tip: Move the handlebars fully left and right once. Make sure there's no tension or chafing.

Step 7 – Functional test

  1. Turn on the display and start the system.
  2. Check that all functions are working correctly by turning the lights on and off, switching through the support levels, and testing the walk assist.

💡

Battery care: Recharge regularly (instead of running it dry) and store the battery between 50 and 80% charge in a dry place (10–20°C) when not in use.

Step 8 – Final security check

  • Tire pressure : The recommended pressure is indicated on the tire sidewalls.
  • Brakes : The brake levers should be firm and the brake pads should not rub against the discs or rims.
  • Gearshift : All gears shift smoothly.
  • Screws : stem, handlebars, seat post, pedals – everything is tight.

⚠️ Test ride : Start with a short ride – preferably without traffic – and check the braking and gear shifting. After the first few kilometers, you can quickly check the bolts and nuts. To ensure long-term safety, you should take your bike to a specialist workshop for service once a year or approximately every 2,000 km.
